IT IS TIME FOR A___CONFESSION!
by Terry inthere is an old-fashioned definition of the word "confession" which is the public expression of one's deepest faith and belief.. take a deep breath and give a one or two paragraph summary of your deepest belief.. i'll go first.. from the time i was a small child i had a deep and abiding reverence for god as a father.
(my own father i never even met until i searched and found him when i was 25 years old.
) my grandmother had been raised in a catholic convent.

Putting The Kingdom First.....
by Sunspot inif i had a dollar for all the times i heard this----*i* would be basking in a multimillion $$$ estate in the bahamas.
every jw was told this over and over at every meeting and convention the wts had the doors open for.
what i didn't realize was that jesus words were being twisted yet again by the men who write for the watchtower, as they continually shouted this into their loyal and obedient (tm) followers ears.. yes....jesus said for his followers to put his kingdom first in our lives......he didn't say to put the watchtower first in your lives!!!

Jehovah is Grandfather, Jesus is Father ??
by NotaNess innot sure i'm in the right section of the forum, but i thought i'd go where a ton of posters hang out.. can some one clerify for me and give me some experience notes about this subject that i came across on the net.. have jw's studied on jehovah being the grandfather and jesus being the father?
if so, where does this come from.
thanks!.

Any of you guys into cooking?
by zagor ini have to admit, for many years i hated it.
before i got married i used to do lots of my own cooking and enjoy artistry of it.
heck, i'm not saying i was an expert at it but the important thing was i loved it.. but then things hit the fan and for years after, particularly because being on my own now, i would find any and every excuse in the cookbook not to do it lol.

How do you guys know that standing firm won't work
by dawg inso, many of you have rightfully challenged my beliefs that standing firm and telling your families exactly what you feel about the wtbts won't work.... i submit that it doesn't work becasue we don't stand together!
if all of us would stand firm say what we know to be true, do it publically, and not back down then i guarentee you there are many in the congs that want out of this crap and their just too scared to do anything becasue they don't want to lose their families.
in my family there are many that call me privately and tell me they know the wt is a crock of shit but won't stand up against it!

Favourite Biblical verses?
by greendawn inwhat are your favourite biblical verses?
even some ex jws may have become atheists but may still be fascinated by some.
someone told me his favourite verse was "thou shalt not go hungry", he was always out of work and liked stealing, but according to him this was one of the commandments given to moses.

re JWs lady came back/Alpha & Omega
by Guest with Questions inpart 2. .
alpha & omega: i asked the husband who the alpha & omega was.
i read rev 1:8, (i should have continued reading v12-18), rev 21:6-7, rev 22:12-13 we all agreed that god (or jehovah/i prefer yahweh) was the alpha & omega.
